Field Sensitivity & Access Presets

Restrict who can see a question's answer using the Sensitivity setting and Access Presets — distinct from Internal only.

Sensitivity controls which staff roles can see a question's answer. Where Internal only hides a question from applicants on Collect, sensitivity narrows it further — among your own people — so figures like medical notes, identity numbers, or credit assessments are only visible to the roles that should see them.

The setting lives on each field's card in the form builder at https://input.ziplineos.com.au, in the Sensitivity dropdown.

The three levels

LevelWho can see the answer
NormalThe default. Anyone who can open the form or deal sees the field. No restriction.
SensitiveOnly the roles named in a chosen Access Preset. With no preset selected, the field is Admin/Owner only.
RestrictedThe most locked level. The field is reserved for the highest access tier (administrators / owners) and can't be opened up with a preset.

The builder marks restricted fields with a red Restricted lock badge, and a Sensitive field that has no preset assigned with a yellow Admin Only badge — so you can see a form's protected questions at a glance.

Access Presets

When you set a field to Sensitive, an Access Preset dropdown appears. A preset is a named bundle of roles — defined centrally for your organisation — that decides who can see fields assigned to it. Choose a preset to grant those roles access; leave it on None (Admin/Owner only) to keep the field to administrators and owners alone.

The presets in the dropdown are configured for your whole organisation, not per form. If you're unsure which preset maps to which roles, check with your ZiplineOS administrator before marking fields Sensitive.

Sensitivity vs Internal only

These two settings solve different problems and can be combined:

SettingHides fromStill visible to
Internal onlyApplicants on CollectAll brokers in Input Hub
SensitivityBrokers outside the allowed rolesOnly the roles in the Access Preset (or Admin/Owner)

A field can be both — stripped from every client response and visible only to certain internal roles. Internal only is covered in Question Settings.

Things to keep in mind

  • Sensitivity governs who can see the answer, not whether it's collected. The question is still asked and stored; only visibility is restricted.
  • Restricted can't be widened with a preset. If a field needs to be visible to a specific team, use Sensitive with the matching Access Preset, not Restricted.
  • Set sensitivity before you publish. Protect the field while you build the form, so a draft is never shared with the wrong roles in testing.
