How do I reset a password?

The ways to reset a ZiplineOS password, including the SuperAdmin-initiated reset.

There are three ways to reset a ZiplineOS password: self-service via the login screen, an admin sending a reset email on your behalf, and a SuperAdmin direct-set (support/QA only).

Reset your own password

This works whenever you can reach the login screen — you don't need to be signed in.

  1. Open the Registry (Identity Portal) at https://id.ziplineos.com.au.
  2. Click Forgot Password? under the password box.
  3. Enter your email and submit.
  4. Click the link in the email and choose a new password.
  5. Sign back in.

The reset email comes from Firebase (the identity service ZiplineOS uses), so the sender may be a noreply Firebase address. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam and confirm the email address.

Already signed in and want to change your password?

If you remember your current password you can change it from within your account — no reset email needed. If you've forgotten it, use Forgot Password? above.

Ask an administrator to reset it for you

If you're locked out, an org administrator can trigger the reset email on your behalf:

  1. The admin opens the Registry (Identity Portal)Members → the member's profile.
  2. Under Password Reset, they click Send Password Reset Email and confirm.
  3. You receive the same reset email and set a new password.

The admin triggers the email only — they never see or set your password.

The SuperAdmin-initiated reset (support-only)

SuperAdmins can set a password directly, skipping the email round-trip. This is reserved for service accounts and QA/test accounts.

Because a direct password set doesn't end active sessions, locking someone out also requires deactivating the account.

Does resetting my password log me out everywhere?

Not automatically. Sessions last up to 5 days and expire on their own. If you suspect a compromise, sign out and ask an administrator to deactivate and reactivate the account.
